Welcome to Folkestone Ski Club

Folkestone Ski Club is based at Folkestone SKi Centre, Radnor Park Avenue Folkestone. It is part of Folkestone Sports Centre, a non-profit making charitable trust.

It can be found by following the signs to the ski slope.  It is near to Folkestone Central Station, Radnor Park, just past The Royal Victoria Hospital.

The slope is quite small - 50 metres.  However, don't let that put you off.  I t may be small but it produces some of the best skiers in the country. 

Our trainers can watch every move our skiers make. This is not always possible on longer slopes.  They can also set drills and tasks that once more cannot be done safely on longer slopes.  If our skiers can get through race training poles on our short, testing slope - just wait and see what they can produce when they are let loose on a long one!  Folkestone skiers have chosen to wear black and yellow shirts, this is a warning  that they also carry a very powerful sting in their tails!

 
The club has been in existence for many years, but has really seen a massive expansion in the past three years.  Why?  Because we believe in our skiers.  We love skiing with a passion.  Our members and our trainers feel the same way.

We did have a waiting list for membership , but a lottery grant solved the problem. We now hold five very well attended training sessions per week and are currently planning a sixth!

In addition to the training sessions we have held European club holidays and training camps on snow, plus training and race days around the country.

Our club members have also raced in the South East and National Race Series throughout the country.  Many of our members belong to their school race teams racing for the Race Association for Kent Schools (RAKS) and the English Schools Ski Association (ESSKiA).  It is no surprise when they are selected to go abroad to train on snow and then become members of National teams.

Our committee is made up of coaches and parents who are keen to ensure that every member is valued and gets the best chance possible.

However, you don't have to be a budding racer to join. Just love skiing as much as we do.
